are A COMIC is a good way of opening up a discussion among young people about the causes of some of problems. Arc, by Leeds Against and (WARF), deals with racist violence, the National Front, racial discrimination and employment.

The comic attempts to discuss racist stereotyping. An unemployed white youth sees a black driving down the road and says: "He's on the scrounge like the rest of them. Is this intended to imply that blacks who are on the dole are scroungers?

A story about the National Front focuses on the racist, anti-WollE they were in govenrment. A shop steward is arrested for being a 'red'. But the sacking of Derek Robinson and the proposed Nationalities happening linder government. It is misleading associate such extremist and racist measures with the NF only.

Ignored If this comic leads to discussion among young white people about the nature of state racism, and helps them bring out these points themselves, this would be highly educative. But what about young blacks? They koen that racism is not the NF. but disruptive units at school and no job The NF doesn't stand for much thes haven't already experienced to some degree.

The comic completely. ignores black self-organisation and concenLale Community Councils to combat the racism they their women Fascism Bill Tory people unfairly in the future' Relations know better.
