The scan: sc-n53-jul-6-1978.pdf (PDF, Marxists Internet Archive, opens at this page)
This text was corrected by hand against the scan: the strip at the head of page 14, which the machine reading did not see; image taken from the scan and its lettering transcribed (18 Oct 2026). One of Cormac's Bad Taste strips: the filing clerk's dream.
Cormac, "Bad Taste" (unnumbered), Socialist Challenge no. 53, 6 July 1978, page 14. From the Marxists Internet Archive scan.
The strip, panel by panel
1. BAD TASTE by Cormac. (The window grid of a tall office block.)
2. "I work in a tall office block as a filing clerk .... and every night I lie in bed and dream .." (Inset: a clerk thinks, "And the chief clerk is in the National Front.")
3. Caption: "I dream that a band of terrorists are planting bombs which will blow the building sky high." (Two figures in black hats.)
4. Caption: "An astute Leninist would point out that such activity would not enhance the possibility of socialist revolution by one iota ..." (The block explodes.) "Very true, I'm afraid .... but it would make me feel GOOD!!!"
