members of Glasgow UTOM took part in a blanket protest and air meeting Glasgow city Saturday, St Patrick's Day.

The blanket protest, the first to be held in Scotland, followed a series of pickets held on the main army recruitment centre in Glasgow Saturday morning. These succeeded in number unemployed youth from joining the British army. in An open letter is now being circulated amongst prominent trade unionists demanding that the Labour-controlled Strathclyde regional council stop the and army from visiting schools in search of new cannon fodder. On 21 April Glasgow UTOM is holding a demonstration in support of political status and troops out now. It will be the first march since 1971 to go into the city centre, and is being jointly organised with Fein.
