This text was corrected by hand against the scan: the strip at the foot of page 14, which the machine reading did not see; image taken from the scan and its lettering transcribed (18 Oct 2026). Number 28 of Cormac's weekly Bad Taste strip: Christmas.

Five-panel Christmas cartoon strip: a haloed Jesus threatens Mary Whitehouse with a blasphemy charge, a sectarian celebrates the winter solstice, and back at the stable a magic mushroom proves Allegro right.
Cormac, "Bad Taste" no. 28, Socialist Challenge no. 77, 4 January 1979, page 14. From the Marxists Internet Archive scan.

The strip, panel by panel

1. BAD TASTE by Cormac #28.

2. (A haloed Jesus in a blanket:) "I think I'll take that Whitehouse person to court on a blasphemy charge!" (A watcher thinks:) "Ah! He's on the blanket!"

3. "Nothing personal, Mary; it's just that every Christmas I think about Christians." "And then I want to puke!"

4. Caption: "While sectarians watch their flux by night". (A sectarian with a drumstick and a drink:) "Don't get me wrong, comrades! I'm just celebrating the (heh-heh) winter solstice!"

5. "Meanwhile — back at the stable ...." (A robed figure holds a huge spotted mushroom.) "By the beard of the profit! Allegro was right!" (Small figure:) "'S magic."
